As he ventured into the real world, Brendan channeled his love for intricate systems and user experience into a successful career as a UX analyst. Brendan thrived on optimizing user interfaces and witnessing the positive impact of his work. After leadership failed to deliver on their promises and then shortly thereafter laid off 10% of the company, including Brendan, he abruptly began a new journey with a different company, which ended with a promotion and a 37% pay cut a year and a half later.

Transitioning from disillusionment to determination, Brendan embarked on a new adventure of entrepreneurship. He channeled his analytical mind and strategic skills into the tech industry, building a successful consulting business. As a side hustle, Brendan developed a complex strategy for investing and did really well for a few years before being plunged into extensive debt in a soul-crushing two hours. His last contract had ended, and he and his wife were expecting their first child. 

An unemployed, extremely depressed, in debt, soon-to-be dad, Brendan buried himself in work to extricate himself from this hole. He successfully made it all back and then some, yet despite financial achievements, a gnawing emptiness remained. A short time later, two of his collegues passed away within months of each other while working on a project together. It was a kick in the pants to reevaluate how he was spending his time.

True fulfillment came from reconnecting with his passion for Dungeons & Dragons. This wasn't just a nostalgic escape; it was a wellspring of inspiration. Brendan, fueled by his analytical mind and boundless creativity, started a publishing company focused on collaborative D&D content creation. It was in this space that his true potential blossomed, bringing together a community of passionate players to craft compelling stories and kick-ass mechanics.
