The air hung heavy with incense and the rhythmic thud of fists against wood. You, a young initiate honing your martial skills, felt a tremor course through your body and out into the monastery walls.

Clamping down on the shivers running down your spine, you venture deeper into the labyrinth of rooms to an area you've never seen before. Driven by your curiosity, you rest your palm against a closed door that seems to thrum with energy. You gently ease it open and peer inside. There, bathed in an ethereal glow, you see a version of yourself—your Ki Guardian.

Do you unlock your secrets?

    Great Subclass

I love the style of this sublcass. It feels like a good way to make a JoJo stand but with less complexity and great versatility. I as a gm would consider it possible for a player to customize their guardian spirit and maybe give it some nice attacks based on story progression.

Ahhhh, or should that be Ohmmmm - I'm unclear on the subclass

I'm very unclear on the relative power and therefore desirability of following this path (subclass); but I am also very unclear on the value of the 5e Monk class to begin with so this may be more carryover from that then anything else. It simply seems that the bonuses this class receives are minor especially at high levels. 17th level, 1 point (out of a maximum of 17) for 30' of True Sight until you rest? Seems under-powered compared to simply having access to a true seeing spell.
And, if the guardian is only visible to you it seems only useful as a very odd sort of "shield", Not necessarily a bad thing but even at 17th level that seems to be fro a maximum of 80 points which given the types of creatures you would expect to encounter there is not more than 2-3 successful attacks.
I may simply be missing something as monk was never a popular 1e class and that doesn't seem to have changed that much by 5e.

It sounds like the bonuses stacking isn't being accounted for. If we use your level 17 example, you're getting these benefits which last up until those temp hp are used up, which is optional since you're using a reaction to have your guardian shield you:
    = 80 temp hp
= bonus to your damage rolls equal to your wisdom modifier
    = +1 bonus to AC
= +1 bonus to attack rolls
= You can take the help action as a bonus action
= You have truesight of 30 feet
= +5 bonus to passive Insight and Perception

Let me know if you have recommendations to improve the wording if any of this was unclear!
